Towing Overview:
Towing is the act of attaching one or more things such that they may be drawn by another object or objects using some propulsion. Any object that may be towed can be dragged by any combination of a person, an animal, a boat, or an engine. One or more of these may be used in conjunction with a hitch, three-point hitch, fifth-wheel hitch, connection, drawbar, integrated platform, or chain and rope to hold the items together in transit.  Please call Northlake for a professional towing service experience.
The process of towing
Like a tractor dragging a tree stump, towing may be a simple process. Towing is a service that many people are acquainted with because of the tow truck or "wrecker" that transports cars that have broken down or become immobile. The tractor-trailer combination is another common kind, as are freight or recreational vehicles hitched to smaller trucks and automobiles using ball or pintle and gudgeon trailer hitches (Boss, 2021). On the other end of the spectrum are heavy-duty tank recovery vehicles and massive ballast tractors used to pull cargoes weighing in the millions of pounds.
Types of towing
There are four primary types of tow trucks in use by modern towing services. A wide variety of tow vehicles, such as those with a hook and chain, a wheel lift, a flatbed, or an integrated platform, are all included here. Learning about the many types of tow trucks will help one choose the one that is most suited to the situation:
Flatbed Towing
A particular tow vehicle with a flatbed is used for the flatbed towing. In this position, the truck's flatbed is parallel to the ground. The truck's bed is raised using a hydraulic winch mechanism to accommodate the car. It's among the most sought-after offerings in the USA (Boss, 2021). After driving the car into the truck's bed, the bed is levelled, and the vehicle is secured with chains. A car may be towed in one of the simplest and safest methods possible.
Heavy Duty Towing
Wreckers and rotators, the huge recovery trucks used in heavy-duty towing services, are the vehicles of choice. They can tow and retrieve everything from huge trucks, tractor trailers, construction equipment, and more (Boss, 2021). Heavy cars may be lifted, dragged, and even rotated using the massive hydraulic winches and cables used on wreckers.
Wheel Lift Towing
While wheel lifts help tow most passenger cars and light trucks, they are not designed for use with larger, heavier vehicles like 4x4s and AWDs. Before lifting the drive wheels, a yoke is positioned beneath them so the car may be towed using the non-drive wheels (Boss, 2021). They've been around for a long time and are one of the most common ways to be towed. When there isn't enough room for a flatbed tow truck, they are a good choice for transporting two cars.
Light and Medium Duty Towing
Light and medium duty towing services are what most businesses provide for situations like car trouble, dead batteries, locked keys in the car, low gas, and so on(Boss, 2021). Almost any passenger vehicle, motor vehicle, or light commercial vehicle of enough size may make use of these services.

In conclusion, although it is the responsibility of the towing company to determine which service is best suited for the car, the customer should be aware of the options. Flatbed towing, rotator towing, and wheel lift towing are some options for emergency roadside assistance. And they all serve distinct hauling needs and provide unique advantages. One needs to examine the available alternatives to choose the best course of action.
